HUNDREDS of fans excitedly queued in Liverpool City Centre hoping to meet their idol, Stormzy.

But it proved too much for one young fan, who burst into tears in the singer's arms.

The grime star was in the city to meet fans and sign copies of his new album, Heavy Is The Head.

Around 300 tickets were sold for yesterday's event at Liverpool ONE's HMV store, with queues snaking around a large portion of the upstairs of the shopping centre.

Photographs taken inside the store show the 26-year-old singer smiling and laughing with fans as he signed copies of his new album for them.

However, in an amusing moment in between signing CDs, Stormzy agreed to get a picture with baby Cassius, who immediately burst into tears as his mum tried to take a picture. But the singer took it all in his stride, as he comforted the seven-month-old.

Stormzy's new album, Heavy Is The Head, which was released last week, also features artists such as Ed Sheeran, Burna Boy, H.E.R and Yebba.
