A BUSINESSMAN who discovered the bodies of his wife and 21-month-old daughter in a private swimming pool in Warwickshire has spoken of his "unbearable" pain.

Grieving Vinh Nguyen, aged 37, desperately tried to save the lives of 33-year-old Annie Tang and the couple's daughter Summer when he found them floating face down in the pool. But they were declared dead on arrival at Warwick Hospital.

He made the tragic discovery after going to join his wife and daughter for a "family day outing", swimming in the pool at Falconhurst House, in Henley Road, Outhill, Studley.

Mr Nguyen had arranged to meet them at the private pool at the offices, which are the headquarters of housing development company Landmarque Sites.

He had just been offered a job with the company and was discussing his future with company director Tom Waldron.

Mr Nguyen has spoken of the family day which ended in tragedy.

He said: "I am consumed with grief. The pain is unbearable.

"I am with my nearest and dearest friends and leaning heavily on them. At this moment in time I have not found the courage to go back to our residential home.

"This family day outing, coupled with business, went tragically wrong.

"Nothing in this world could ever replace their worth and love given to me. I have now lost my everything.

"My thoughts and prayers, each and every second of the day are with my wife, daughter and both our families. I hope with God's help, maybe one day the healing process may begin for all of us.

"I would like to send my thanks to the ambulance and air services and the police for their sensitivity, who did everything they could to save my girls. They will always live in my heart for ever and ever."

Mr Nguyen, of Stapleton, in Bristol, found his wife and daughter face down in the swimming pool at 5.25pm on Saturday after his meeting with Mr Waldron.

They dialled 999 and began resuscitation but despite their efforts and those of paramedics and air ambulance staff, Mrs Tang and Summer were pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

Police believe they both drowned and are not treating the deaths as suspicious. Police and the Health and Safety Executive have launched investigations.
