Grief and anger among citizens in Quetta as child's body found in a drain line.
QUETTA: Four years old Ahad Qasims body was found from a sewage line in Jail road after two days when he fell downin drain line passing outside of his home, sparked anger among family and residents demanding safety for their children. 673786704On TuesdayAhads family lodges his missing complain in the near Police station and placed his pictures with family contact details throughout the city while his picture with missing hashtag was circulating on social media and whatsapp groups.
673786705Wednesdayevening hunt for Ahads safe recovery was ended when his father found Ahads body from a sewage line passing outside his home, the incident shocked the whole family including resident of Jail road over the tragic death of an innocent toddler. There was a crackdown against encroachment in the area on May 22ndwhen Ahad Qasim wanted to follow her grandmother, but due to chaos outside our home he slipped and fell off in a drain passing outside our home.
Azam Khan who lost his nephew told. After completing postmortem of Ahads body the police and refuted any torture and sexual attempt on him, his family buries hid body on Thursday with sobs and tears.
According to local residents total four children have been dead after felling inside the sewage since one years, and despite immense complains still its open and endangering other childrens lives. Unfortunately we have complained and requested MPA elected from PB 04 during 2013 elections, but the whole constituency is still deprived of any development even he didnt pay visit of our areas since got elected.
Azam Khan said. He added, CM Balochistan Qudus Bizenjo paid visited in our neighborhood and directed authorities to shut sewage water flow from residential area, But we dont know how the filthy water flow resumed by authorities, what we assume ahead local farmers uses derange water for vegetables cultivation.
While paying visit of the area one can find how danger the area for living as deep sewage line filled with filthy water passing through residential area without any safety wall around the drain. We have lost our son, but we dont want others to taste the pain we have been suffering, the government should visit the area and adopt safety measure over the drainage line.
Muhammad Anwer grandfather of Ahad Qasim urged the provincial government. He added, though district administration pays visit for cleaning the sewage line, but due to further excavation it getting more-deeper without having proper bridges for pedestrians or safety wall.
Residents of the area have urged the provincial government and CM Balochistan to take strict notice over the issue and order immediate safety walls and bridges over the sewage line passing through residential areas in Quetta city.
