Greyhound letters: Double record breaker?

Byline: P J Murphy

A racegoer was astounded by Double Take's clock-smashing run at Perry Barr

ON Sunday, October 5, I attended a greyhound meeting at Perry Barr in Birmingham. I believe that night I witnessed a unique event. A bitch called Double Take won a six-bend race by over 14 lengths and in doing so broke the track record by 93 spots on going rated normal.

In my years attending many greyhound meetings I cannot ever remember a record being beaten so comprehensively.

Perhaps looking through your records you could tell me if such an event happened before, or perhaps one of your readers could assist?
