Gregory's grab glory in county final; Champions crowned after top team effort.
ST GREGORY'S were crowned Warwickshire Sportshall School Athletics champions after a superb team performance at the Coventry Sports Centre in which they overcame nine other teams to land the county honours.
The Stratford youngsters were the class act of the competition as they led their rivals a merry dance in the tournament, which brought out the best young and up-and-coming athletes from all over region.
Primary schools from Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire had quali- fied through to the competition, run in association with the School Sports Partnership, and it proved a massive success, especially for the team from St Gregory's, who followed up their triumph in the South Warwickshire competition to carry on the good work when they met other finalists from around Warwickshire.
All teams consisted of 30 youngsters from the Year 5/6 age group and the children competed in track and field events.
St Gregory's edged out Paddox Primary from Rugby while Parkhill from Kenilworth filled third position just ahead of Solihull's Castle Bromwich.
