Destiny, a provider of Digital Pen and Paper technology solutions, announced on Monday (5 February) that Greenberg Glass Group, a commercial glass and glazing company in the UK, is rolling out Digital Pen and Paper to 400 mobile workers throughout the UK.
Greenberg Glass Group's service technicians complete around 100,000 reactive jobs each year, such as reglazing shop fronts and conducting emergency repair work, and each job requires the technician to complete a service order form, including duration and time of visit and the work carried out. The information is then posted to two central offices based in Liverpool and Huddersfield for processing.
Destiny said that Greenberg Glass Group initially piloted Digital Pen and Paper with 5% of its workforce, and field service technicians found it easy to use, which meant the company did not need to retrain its staff. Digital Pen and Paper provides Greenberg Glass Group with greater efficiency because as soon as a job is signed off it comes up on a screen in a central area and can be invoiced within 24 hours, which helps the company to meet its SLAs, and customers can get an instant report on the work carried out, said the communications director for Greenberg Glass Group.
In addition Greenberg Glass Group is implementing Destiny's Photo Upload service, so that the service technicians can take pictures of broken windows for insurance claims.
The introduction of Digital Pen and Paper is said to be part of Greenberg Glass Group's GBP1m investment in new technology. No other financial details were disclosed.
