Greek Boat Crash Kills 4.

UPDATED: 10:41 a.m. EDT - Images have begun to emerge from Tuesday's deadly boat crash near Aegina, Greece, that killed at least four people and injured four others. Local news outlet Greek iNews ( published a handful of photos from the scene in addition to posting some of them to its Twitter feed.

One of the photos showed officials in Piraeus, Greece, carting out the body of one of the people who died. A toddler was also among the dead, although details surrounding the deceased were scarce.

At least four people have been confirmed dead Tuesday in Greece after a crash between a speedboat and a boat carrying dozens of tourists, according to a new report. One of the dead was a toddler and at least four other people were injured in the fatal collision, the Associated

Press ( reported.

The crash happened off the Saronic Gulf island of Aegina when the speedboat apparently rammed the boat carrying as many as 25 people who were on vacation, Greek news outlet Kathimerini reported. Both sea craft were reportedly traveling at fast speeds when the collision took place.

Officially had initially determined that three people had died in the crash but a subsequent search turned up the body of a fourth person nearly 66 feet underwater. Those who died include the captain of the ship carrying the vacationers, a two-year-old, one man and the person found underwater. Additional details were not immediately available.

"We express our deepest sorrow for the tragic accident in the maritime area of Aegina," a statement from the Greek political party Syriza read. "Our thoughts are with the families of the victims and the injured. The need to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision of the two vessels is imperative. "

That fateful boat was ferrying passengers from Aegina to the Greek island of Moni, where a cove serves as a popular tourist attraction, the BBC ( reported . While it has been confirmed that those aboard the larger boat were tourists and people on vacation, their nationalities were not immediately announced.
