Gratitude - in loo.

A BUILDING firm have said thank you to a Tyneside community centre - by doing up their toilets.

The centre, in Brinkburn, South Shields, provided home to a site office for staff from South Tyneside Homes and Keepmoat while they carried out work to refurbish houses on the Harton Moor estate.

Centre manager Jean Copp said: "We still had the original toilets from when the Centre was built.

"Now customers are saying the toilets are a pleasure to visit. It was an excellent agreement."

South Tyneside councillor Jim Foreman, said: "I'm very impressed with how this mutual arrangement has helped both parties and the results are excellent. It was clearly a win-win situation."
