Gran's prize knockers are out in front.

Byline: GRAINNE CUFFE

A GRAN is celebrating being a world champion after her tasty "knockers" scooped first prize.

Jill Martin won in the World Pasty Champion ships with her sausage, bacon and egg parcel.

Her pasties are an homage to Kent's miners.

The name comes from "the knocker", a mythical creature who would knock on mine walls as a warning just before cave-ins.

Jill, 68, also took third prize for a cheese, onion and apple creation.

The OAP travelled for seven-and-half hours to get to the contest at the Eden Project in Cornwall.

Jill, from Deal, Kent, said: "Winning was mind blowing - I was absolutely bowled over, absolutely beside myself. It was one of the best days of my life."
