Connecticut-based Gramercy Funds Management has announced it has appointed Jeffrey D. Sharon, CFP, CIMA as Global Head of Business Development, the company said.

He will be responsible for the firm's marketing, distribution and investor relations efforts and will also serve as a member of Gramercy's Management Team.

Sharon brings 25 years of expertise in the asset management industry, as a business development professional and successful leader of institutional sales and client service teams. He was most recently the Head of North America Institutional at OppenheimerFunds, where he was instrumental in the firm's growth through strategic marketing and targeting the institutional asset owner and consultant community.

Gramercy Funds Management is an emerging markets investment manager with a presence in London and Buenos Aires. The firm, founded in 1998, seeks to provide investors with superior risk-adjusted returns through a comprehensive approach to emerging markets supported by a transparent and robust institutional platform.
