Graeter's tests home deliver with popular pizza chain.
Tony Boombozz was launched in Louisville eight years ago, positioned by founder Tony Palombino as a gourmet pizza alternative to the available fast food type pizzas being offered for home delivery. His strategy proved to be successful. Palombino opened a second pizza place specializing in deliveries and then a full-service restaurant. He projects that he will have 180 franchise locations opened over the next four years. Both the take-out/delivery concept and the sit-down concept will be franchised.
The test, which began at the start of the year and expanded in February, has Tony Boombozz offering six flavors of Graeter's 7.1-ounce Big Scoop ice cream cartons with the company's highly popular pizzas, reported to be the top local delivery pizza in the Louisville market.
