Jewish Institute of Religion The School of Graduate Studies, Cincinnati, Ohio, is a center for study, training, research, and publication in Judaic, Hebraic, and Cognate Studies. The School awards Master of Arts, Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees to students preparing for careers in teaching and scholarship. Major areas of study include: Bible, History of Biblical Interpretation, Rabbinics, Second Temple Judaism, Jewish Thought and American Jewish History. The School welcomes students of all faiths and nationalities who meet high standards of scholarship and who are devoted to exploring Judaic heritage. The Pre-Doctoral M.A. in Jewish Studies and the regular MA. degree are offered on HUC-JIR's campuses in Cincin.nati, Los Angeles and New York. The Doctor of Hebrew Letters (D.H.L.) is available to ordained rabbinical graduates and may be pursued under the supervision of faculty advisors who teach on the same three campuses. The Doctor of Hebrew Studies degree is offered by the Magnin School of Graduate Studies in Los Angeles. The Interfaith Doctor of Ministry Program in Pastoral Counseling, designed for ordained clergy of all faiths, is offered in New York.
