Grace Kelly-inspired jewellery collection dazzles at expo.

AILYN AGONIAN DOHA Mont Blanc, the international luxury brand's jewellery collection showcased at the Ali Bin Ali stall at the ongoing 9th Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition, takes inspiration from the sophistication of late Princess Grace of Monaco and Hollywood actress also known as Grace Kelly.

'Collection Princesse Grace de Monaco', consists of fine jewellery and watches, and is primarily inspired by the royalty's love for roses. Mont Blanc is also showcasing at the event its newest high-end timepieces for men.

"We are launching this very unique collection in the name of Princess Grace. We took the concept from the leaves of the rose and designed jewelleries including bracelets, earrings, rings and watches made of diamonds and other stones like sapphires and rubies. With this collection we are also stepping in the women's world.

Mont Blanc is a brand with a more than 100-year history in craftsmanship and design and also writing instruments. This new jewellery collection makes Mont Blanc a true luxury brand," Sonke Tornieporth, Mont Blanc vice-president GBU Central, told Qatar Tribune on Tuesday.

The collection consists of watches that are specially designed to be timeless, which, according to Tornieporth, is the kind of niche Mont Blanc has created in the industry.

It includes the Petales Entrelaces made of 34mm 18-carat red gold case with 44 Baguette cut diamonds on the bezel and 130 diamonds on the flange. It also consists of white mother-of-pearl dial set with diamonds, Mont Blanc diamond in the crown and 18-carat red gold bracelet set with 567 diamonds.

Another watch to watch under this collection is made with drop cut pink sapphire with white alligator skin strap.

"We are not a fashion brand. We want to be timeless with our design. We create designs which can stay with the owner for a long time just like a personal companion and likely to be handed down to next generations," Tornieporth said.

He added that the items of jewellery carry price tags ranging from 2000 euro up to 200,000 euro depending on the number of diamonds the item is made of.

Meanwhile, the watch collection being showcased at the exhibition are new inventions that have special features such as big balance wheel for accuracy, energy saving models, day and night indicators and new exciting designs.

Tornieporth said this was the first time they were showcasing the highend watches and Collection Princesse Grace de Monaco' together at one event in the region.
