Teaching movie making skills to young ones is a challenge. It is such a complicated process with so many varied parts, one wonders if it is at all possible. This set of resources gives it a very good attempt. The box itself is a clapperboard design that can also double in a movie project. Within are a number of resources for understanding the movie making process and, if desired, to produce a movie. The handbook is nicely illustrated and outlines the different movie types and processes, such as storyboarding, acting, scripts, shooting techniques and animation. Also in the box are frames, which can be used for crop and binocular shots, cut outs for animation, props and special effects.

Given the fact that many mobile phones are now cameras and children are exposed to basic editing suites on most computers, this kit would be a valuable resource for anyone with a primary school aged child with an interest in movie making. It would also be a fantastic media class resource for children being taught the fundamentals of media production. It also looks like great fun. DM
