Govt committee reviews paramedics' demands.
KARACHI -- Sindh Health Department has constituted a committee for reviewing paramedical staff's demands and furnishing its recommendations them. However, Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association Sindh has postponed their protest demonstration and boycott of duties for a week after assurance from the Sindh Health Department.
The committee members are Additional Secretary Admin-II (Chairman, Deputy Secretary General (Member), Section Officer PM-II (Member/convener) and representative of Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association (PPMSA) Sindh. The committee will examine the demands of Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association Sindh and furnished their recommendations. General Secretary, PPMSA, Sindh Abdul Jabbar Kumbhar, said high-ups of health department have assured paramedical staff that a summery would be moved to the Chief Minister Sindh within a week for his approval. He announced that paramedics have postponed their protest demonstration and boycott of duties for a week following the assurance from health department.
The paramedics, under the banner of Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association Sindh, were protesting across Sindh province in favor of their demands. The delegation of PPMSA has held a meeting Secretary Health Sindh and presented fourteen-point charter demanded to him. The demands are service structure for paramedical staff from grade-9 to grade-20, time-scale for health supporting staff from grade-1 to grade-16, health professional allowance equal to basic salary, declare Sindh Medical Faculty as board, regularization of contract employees, creations of new post for technologist in grade-17, 20 per cent health professional allowance for lady health workers.
