Government Summit opens today in Dubai.

The Government Summit, a two-day regional initiative partnered with the UN, will open today here. The event will feature workshops on the UN Public Service Award -- the most prestigious international recognition in public service excellence.

The summit will host several regional and international speakers from around the world and specialized research centers in government development. It will discuss expertise from Denmark, Canada, Australia, South Korea and Brazil as well as a number of successful local experiences.

Key officials from the UAE and abroad will review the main developments and international trends to secure government services. UN representatives, World Bank and the World Economic Forum have also confirmed their participation.

The program agenda covers all aspects of government administration and services, with several interactive discussions to be addressed by international experts.

Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum will attend the summit and hold discussions with citizens and journalists.

He will answer the questions of citizens and journalists regarding his vision for the progress of government work as well as the most important principles of government leadership.
