Gordon Biersch announces seasonal Bock

Dan Gordon, brewing engineer and partner at the Gordon Biersch Brewing Co., recently announced this year's release of his German-style Dopplebock beer, a major brewing event of the brewery's holiday season.

The traditional Dopplebock is darker, thicker and richer than most beers, Gordon reported. The brewer spent five years at the Technical University in Munich, and is known in this country for his strict adherence to German purity standards. Gordon's Dopplebock is currently only available for consumption at the brewery's restaurant location in Palo Alto, CA.

"The Bock beer will bring a glowing smile to every customer," Gordon noted.

During 1990, Gordon and his partner, Dean Biersch, expanded their popular brewery restaurant concept from Palo Alto to a second location in San Jose, CA, as well as signing a lease for a San Francisco operation projected to open in the spring of 1992. Additionally, the Gordon Biersch owners said, plans had been laid this year for the Second Annual Gordon Biersch Charity Golf Classic, slated for the summer of 1991.
