TELECOMWORLDWIRE-17 January 2008-Google introduces iGoogle Themes API(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The iGoogle Themes API has been introduced by Internet search engine company Google, enabling user-generated iGoogle Themes.

Google said the API allows anyone who can build a web page, to design an iGoogle Theme, with themes providing users with more options for personalising iGoogle pages by creating new themes or selecting a user-created theme.

According to Google, the API allows developers to design and share a theme with the millions of iGoogle users around the world, extending options for users to customise their iGoogle experience.

The company has released custom themes from designers Yves Behar, Mark Frauenfelder, Troy Lee and John Maeda. It has also established a themes directory, which is similar to the Google Gadgets directory and enables users to find and select a theme for their iGoogle page.
