PAR, a European database specialist and a subsidiary of digital business information supplier the Bisnode Group, today announced that it has been appointed by Internet company Google to supply business data for Google Maps for Sweden and Finland.
No financial details of the agreement were provided.
The data provided by PAR will be used to enable users of Google maps to identify businesses near a location and to click on them to get more details. Users will also be able to search for specific businesses using the company name or industry and locate the results on Google Maps.
PAR said that one of the reasons it has been appointed by Google to supply the data is the existence of its EuroContactPool business database which it launched in 2004 as a pan-European online business data resource. The company said that the database now contains contact details for 22m businesses and 16m named executives in 14 European countries and has been developed into an interactive service that can link with customer relationship management systems including Microsoft Dynamics and SuperOffice. A plug-in to salesforce.com is planned for the autumn, according to the company
