Improving indoor air quality and reducing the odor from new carpet are two objectives of a $2 million investment Goodyear is making at its Calhoun, GA, latex plant. A modern control system, marked by improved reaction and emission recovery processes, will help to reduce the volatile chemicals in latex, which will in turn benefit the latex products sold to the carpet industry 'and those used for tire cord adhesion. Goodyear broke ground for the project early in April, and should complete things by this summer.
