In September, Goodyear will introduce a new tire, the Invicta GFE, which is said to be an innovative, fuel-efficient tire with pro-environmental impact. Produced with special polymers produced by Goodyear's chemical division, the tread is reported to allow a 4% reduction in gasoline usage by cutting rolling resistance. According to the company, its chemical compounding and testing procedures over the past two years documented a 20% improvement in rolling resistance over any of its other aftermarket tire lines. The Invicta GFE (greater fuel economy) will be manufactured at Goodyear tire plants in Lawton, OK; Union City, TN; and Valleyfield, Canada, and will feature nine sizes.
