Goodyear makes management changes.

Goodyear Tire & Rubber named Charles "Chuck" Mick to the newly created position of vice president and general manager, North American holdings and integration. Mick had previously served as vice president and general manager of the company's Global Off-Highway tire business, since 2003.

In his new role, Mick will have general management responsibility for Goodyear's Canadian tire business, and will oversee Goodyear's interests in Tire & Wheel Assembly (T&WA).

Simultaneously, he will be responsible for leading the integration of Goodyear's North American shared services activities in support of the company's strategic efforts to drive additional cost savings.

Joseph Copeland, chief executive officer of Goodyear's South Pacific Tyre (SPT) business in Australia since May 2005, will succeed Mick as vice president and general manager of the Global Off-Highway tire business, with responsibility for Goodyear's worldwide off-the-road, aviation and race tire business units.

Judith Swales replaces Copeland as managing director and chief executive officer of South Pacific Tyres. Swales, 39, was previously managing director of SPT retail, where she initiated the modernization of the sales locations in Australia and New Zealand.
