Byline: Journal Record Staff

OKLAHOMA CITY The Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women selected state Rep. Regina Goodwin, D-Tulsa, as the 2019 Guardian Award recipient during the OCSW monthly meeting.

Each year, the OCSW presents the Guardian Award to an elected official who has made significant governmental contributions to guarding, protecting and preserving the rights of women and families.

Elected in 2015 to represent House District 73 in Tulsa, Goodwin has authored bills in an effort to affect greater social justice.

Goodwin is a native of Tulsa, where she grew up on historic Greenwood Street. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and has a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas.
