GoodWeave rug raffle features Milton Glaser design.

AN 8-BY-10, LIMITED-EDITION RUG DESIGNED BY RENOWN GRAPHIC DESIGNER MILTON Glaser is the prize of GoodWeave USA's 11th annual rug raffle. The Fruits of Labor design is from Glaser's collection with GoodWeave member company Lapchi LLC, and is Goodweave certified. Retailing for $12,800, it is handknotted and made of 80 percent silk and 20 percent wool.

Glaser is known for such iconic designs as the "I IP NY" campaign and a poster for Bob Dylan's "Greatest Hits" album. The collection with Lapchi is the artist's first foray into textile design, a release said. Lapchi's rug collection with Glaser consists of 16 designs woven in Nepal with handspun Tibetan wool and silks, and was exhibited this past spring at the Santa Monica Museum of Art.

Raffle tickets are $25 each, five for $100, 10 for $200, 25 for $500, 50 for $1,000 or 125 for $2,500. All proceeds will benefit GoodWeave's programs to end child labor in the rug industry and provide educational opportunities to children in the weaving communities of Nepal, India and Afghanistan.

The drawing will be held by GoodWeave in September 2012 in New York; entrants need not be present to win. Individuals may purchase tickets at GoodWeave.org/raffle or by contacting the GoodWeave office at 202-234-9050.
