When it comes to blots on the landscape, there is one structure in particular that takes the biscuit, the brickbats and the rest.

But soon Westgate House will be gnawed away from within by a group of voracious robots eager to do a disapproving public's bidding.

The view from Newcastle's classic Central Station will be improved immeasurably by its disappearance, but one thing is certain.

As soon as Westgate House vacates the space it has filled so wretchedly, another monstrosity will top the "most hated" list.
