Golf: Open call-up.

GOLF: Warwickshire's Andrew Sullivan, winner of two national events this year and a semi-finalist in the Amateur Championship, has been named in a three-man squad to represent England in the Finnish Open Amateur Championship.

The Midlander will be joined by Luke Goddard and Miles Mackman in the 54-hole championship at Helsinki Golf Club on August 7-9. Sullivan, 21, has won the Berkhamsted Trophy and topped the rankings in the Midland qualifying at Chesterfield, while he was denied a place in the Amateur Championship final when he was beaten by Tommy Fleetwood.

A member of Nuneaton, he won the Warwickshire Amateur this year to complete his set of county titles. He will be making his second foreign assignment for the EGU, having played in the Czech Amateur last year.

He is spending the summer as a full-time amateur, then on to the European Tour school in a bid to turn pro.
