Goldsmith & Eggleton.

Fire broke out at Goldsmith & Eggleton's Springfield Township, OH, rubber processing plant October 30, but was contained before it destroyed the company's main office building, which houses all of the company's records. Fueled by some two million pounds of rubber worth between 15 cents and $1 a pound, the fire totally destroyed four buildings. The fire caused an estimated $2 million in damages. No injuries were reported and the smoke was non-toxic. Production will be increased at the company's Wadsworth, OH, plant until the Springfield Township facility is rebuilt. Goldsmith & Eggleton distributes synthetic rubber and raw, natural rubber and recycles synthetic rubber.
