Goldpfeil to open flagship on Fifth Ave.

Goldpfeil, one of the world's largest manufacturers of high quality leather goods and accessories, will open its U.S. flagship store at 711 Fifth Avenue under the terms of a leasing transaction arranged by Garrick-Aug Associates Store Leasing, Inc., it was announced.

The store will open in November, 1991.

The privately-owned, Offenbach, Germany-based firm is worldrenowned for its men's and women's luxury leather goods, handmade by the House of Goldpfeil since 1856.

Goldpfeil will occupy 4,000 square feet of retail space, combining ground floor space formerly occupied by Nat Sherman Tobacconist and by The Rockefeller Gallery at 711 Fifth Avenue. The building is located at the northeast corner of Fifth Avenue and 55th Street, and is owned by Coca-Cola Corporation and is its New York headquarters.

The transaction was arranged on behalf of the tenant by Faith Consolo, managing director, Garrick-Aug Worldwide, the store leasing firm's international division.

Goldpfeil leather accessories are sold in the finest department stores and specialty shops. The manufacturer has five of its own stores in Beverly Hills, Dallas, Honolulu, Houston, and Miami. Goldpfeil also has 33 stores across Europe and the Far East in cities including Berlin, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Paris and Singapore.

Goldpfeil's U.S. flaship store will be located directly across Fifth Avenue from Dior and next door to Bally.
