Golden Hill Mining/Mill City Gold Mining -- Geological Mapping, Geochemical and Geophysical Surveys Completed in Maclama Area, Cuba Drill Hole Results Pending.
A 100 line kilometre bulldozer-cut grid has been established and mapped at a scale of 1:5000. A soil geochemistry survey has been finished and ground geophysical surveys including induced polarization (IP), magnetometer (Mag) and vertical loop electromagnetics (VLEM) have been completed.
Collectively, this work has demonstrated that the east-west trending Golden Hill fault bisects the Maclama grid. In addition, these surveys have delineated a northeast-trending fault with an apparent left-lateral displacement of at least 600 metres. This fault (previously unknown and referred to as the Mac Fault), has been traced for 2 kilometres and is the focus for veining, hydrothermal alteration, and gold mineralization in the Maclama area.
Sixty percent of the results of the soil geochemistry survey have been received and define a continuous anomaly greater than 100 metres wide and 1.2 kilometres in strike length coincident with the Mac Fault. Several of these samples yielded values greater than 1.0 g/t gold with the highest yielding 10.0 g/t gold.
The soil anomaly remains open in both directions along strike. Surface grab samples and chip samples of outcrop have yielded values up to 11.0 g/t gold and 100.0 g/t silver. Of particular significance is the occurrence of a 600-metre thick unit of siliceous jasper, which, although offset by the Mac Fault, has acted as a ridged body during deformation and was subjected to extensive hydrofracturing and mineralization.
Twenty seven widely-spaced cored drill holes, totalling 3250 metres, have been completed in the Maclama area. These holes have tested the Mac Fault, the jasper unit and two distal IP targets known as IP-1 and IP-2. The results for these holes are pending and will be released by the operator when they become available.
The drill is currently working in the Golden Hill area where it continues delineation drilling of the previously discovered oxide gold deposits.
Operator MacDonald Mines is conducting the ongoing exploration program at the Golden Hill epithermal gold discovery, in east-central Cuba, on behalf of partners GeoMinera S.A., a Cuban state agency, and Golden Hill Mining Corp. Mill City currently owns approximately 42 percent of the Shares of Golden Hill. -0-
