Gold Fields Declares Final Dividend.

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Gold Fields Limited (Nasdaq: GOLD) today announced a final dividend for the year ended June 30, 1999, of 30 cents per share, payable to shareholders registered at the close of business on September 17, 1999.

The dividend is declared in the currency of the Republic of South Africa. Payments from the United Kingdom will be made in Sterling at the rate of exchange ruling on October 1, 1999, or the first day thereafter on which a rate of exchange is available.

Dividend warrants will be posted on October 8, 1999.

Gold Fields is a major South African gold producer with nearly four million ounces of annual production, 150 million ounces of mineral resources and almost 75 million ounces of mineral reserves. The Company trades on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange under the symbol GFI and in the United States of America on the Nasdaq Exchange under the symbol GOLD. Gold Fields is also listed on the London, Paris, Brussels and Swiss Stock Exchanges.
