Goalkeeper Jensen backing Burnley to upset odds.

BURNLEY goalkeeper Brian Jensen believes the Coca-Cola Championship side have it in them to win the Carling Cup after adding Arsenal to their impressive list of scalps.

Two goals from promising Scottish midfielder Kevin McDonald either side of half-time saw the club secure a place in the last four of a major competition for the first time in 25 years.

How ever the Coca - Cola Championship side were also grateful to Jensen, who made a string of fine saves to keep a typically youthful Gunners team at bay.

Asked if Burnley could win the competition, he said: "Why not?

Anything can happen in football.

"It is a massive game for the club because it is the semi-finals.With a good draw and a little bit of luck then who knows. We will probably be underdogs."

McDonald, 20, paid tribute to Jensen and was delighted to get on the scoresheet.

"They are the best goals I have scored in my career," said the former Dundee midfielder.

"We have a great keeper here. We knew we would have to give 100%. That was the main thing."

BurnleymanagerOwen Coyle saluted his side after they chalked up a hat trick of victories against top-flight London sides in the competition following the defeats of Fulham and then Chelsea He said: "People will talk about individual players but it was a team effort. We are trying to make the place a fortress and this is a real football environment.

"We knew we would have to be focused because of the quality Arsenal have. But I felt we deserved the win."
