Byline: James - Rowe

We often envy the way the rich and famous look, due to how glamorous they appear. Like it or not, women are primarily judged by the way they look.

However, you don't have to be a movie star to be glamorous - everyone has the ability to achieve glamour.

Just follow my 12 days of Christmas Glam Guide and you'll be sure to impress this season.

First day of Christmas Wear heels as often as possible. They give your bum a boost up, which creates more curves and gives you that sexy strut signature of any glam girl. Heels also lengthen the body, giving you a longer line which makes clothes look better, and they can dress up even the most casual outfit.

Second day of Christmas Keep your skin looking good. Moisturise it every day, get rid of dry, dead skin and use high-quality skin products that will help improve and maintain a healthy complexion.

Third day of Christmas Get a great hairstyle. Look in magazines to see the latest styles and then determine which one would be the most flattering on you. Chic, lowmaintenance styles might work best, since they require less time and effort to keep up. Make certain your hair colour complements your skin tone and doesn't make you look older.

Fourth day of Christmas Experiment to see which make-up best complements you. You need to find out what shade of foundation to use, how to expertly apply mascara, eye shadow, lip colour, etc. Get the advice of a professional by visiting a department store and asking a cosmetics assistant to help you find what looks best on you.

Fifth day of Christmas Wear well-fitting clothes that are classy and that look good on you. While you want to keep up on fashion trends, not every style looks good on every body. Find what works best for you and then purchase outfits that are going to draw some very positive attention. It may set you back a few quid to buy a few items of designer clothing, but you will be rewarded with looks of admiration.

Sixth day of Christmas You don't have to spend an arm and a leg, but choose quality items. No matter what the price tag says, make sure that what you're buying is constructed well and looks like it won't be threadbare after a couple of wears. Also choose high quality fabrics like silk, wool, and leather as often as possible - glamour is all about exuding luxuriousness.

Seventh day of Christmas Accessorise, accessorise, accessorise! These are the best tools to achieve a super glamorous look and can be used to update an outfit from day to night at very little cost. Be careful to balance accessories though. Avoid overloading with earrings and a necklace, as you may run the risk of looking like Bet Lynch.

Eighth day of Christmas Perfect posture is key to achieving a glamorous look. Think Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn - they both carried themselves with their heads held high and with fabulous grace and poise.

Ninth day of Christmas Pick pieces that help you to achieve an hourglass silhouette. This is glamour at its best.

Tenth day of Christmas Wear red, the colour of the season. It's the ultimate in glamour, and whether it's a killer red dress or a red lippy, it's bound to help you make a statement.

Eleventh day of Christmas Treat yourself to a manicure and pedicure to complete your glamorous look.

Twelfth day of Christmas Show off your new look with friends and family and celebrate how good you look.
