Go for gold this summer; In association with Surgi Care.
While Dita Von Teese and Kelly Osbourne work alabaster white skin, the summer alternative is the 'supertan' - or in reality super-fake.
While last summer we accentuated bronze looks with shock neon eyes or lips, now the colour palette for the supertan bronze is all about earthy tones of terracotta, brown, gold and amber.
Here's how to get the look:
Best for: Pale skin.
Even fair skin can achieve a gorgeous golden glow. The trick is not to go overboard with the colour. Start with a tinted moisturiser to add instant warmth to your complexion, then replace your usual blusher with a bronzer with warm pinkish tones. Finish off with a slick of bronze lip balm, which will give you a softer look than a lipstick or gloss.
Try: The Body Shop Tinted Glow Enhancer, pounds 11; L'Oreal Paris Glam Bronze Mineral Bronzing Pearls in Blonde Harmony, pounds 13.99 or Sleek Glo Face and Body Highlighter, pounds 4.99 (Superdrug).
Best for: Medium to olive skin.
This look has golden goddess written all over it. In the absence of a suntan, a bronzing moisturizer will give you that all-important glamorous base. Work in rich burnt bronzes and golds on your eyes and cheeks to intensify your summer bling look. Lips can go deep terracotta but avoid shimmer overload by keeping them matte with a lipstick.
Try: Mac Bronzing Powder in Refined Golden, pounds 14, Givenchy Prismissime Mat & Glow, pounds 30.50 or Elizabeth Arden Exceptional Lipstick in Amber, pounds 14.
Best for: Dark skin Thinkmatte to achieve this rich supertan shade. Forget the gleaming tints and apply a sheen-free tinted gel for an all-over deep tan.
To achieve an all-American glow, as seen on the cat walks, warmup cheeks with a red-toned blusher and maximise your glow with a shimmering lip gloss with gold flecks.
Try: Sisley Phyto-Touche Sun GlowGel, pounds 37.50 (0207 591 6380); NYC Mosaic Colour Wheel, pounds 3.99 (Superdrug) or Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Powder in Desert Bronze, pounds 28 (0207 493 3836).
