Glossary of library and information science; English-Chinese/Chinese-English.

Chen, Su and Shi Deng.

K.G. Saur

343 pages

This bilateral English-Chinese glossary containing some 11,000 undefined terms used in the library and information sciences seeks to promote collaboration between librarians and library vendors in North America, mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong. Covering wide-ranging areas from library associations to new technologies and standards, the glossary begins with a user's guide noting that entries in English and Chinese Pinyin are alphabetically listed, and that terms may have multiple translations. The compilers acknowledge assistance from colleagues from the U. of Minnesota Libraries and the U. of California, San Diego Libraries, and others from the US and China. The volume includes English and Chinese references, and a MARC bibliographic record mapping table.
