Gloss.com Names Internet Pioneer as CTO.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 4, 1999--

Gloss.com, prestige online beauty e-tailer, announced today the appointment of Doug Dalton as chief technology officer. Dalton will be responsible for gloss.com's technology development, deployment, and day-to-day operations.

New CTO Dalton has dedicated his career to building leading edge technology companies. Most recently, Dalton was VP of Engineering and Operations at Knowledge Universe, a consortium of more than 20 companies with combined revenue of $1.5 billion. Dalton also served as Senior Manager of Network Engineering and New Technologies at Netscape Communications, where he directed web architecture and drove global expansion. At Sprint, Dalton acted as lead engineer in building one of the largest Internet networks at that time. From Sprint he founded the Internet technology incubator Inex.
