GlobalSight Technology Selected By HP.

Business Editors, High Tech Writers

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2000

GlobalSight Corp., the leading provider of enterprise software for accelerating global e-business, and Hewlett-Packard Company today announced that HP has selected GlobalSight Ambassador for its internal use.

GlobalSight's technology and strategy enable multinational companies and dotcoms to create and maintain a Web presence in the languages, cultures and business practices of worldwide online markets. Companies such as GE, Palm Computing and 3Com use GlobalSight's software to streamline the process of developing a site in multiple languages, further divided into in-country language "locales" (such as Canadian French) that can number in the hundreds for an international company.

HP is a leading global provider of computing and imaging solutions for businesses and consumers worldwide. More than 54 percent of the company's business comes from outside the U.S., with nearly two thirds of its international sales from Europe. The company also has a significant presence in Japan, Canada, Australia, the Far East and Latin America.

"E-business globalization requires many Web contributors worldwide to ensure that content is adapted effectively for languages, cultures and business practices of international markets," said Doug Chapin, chief executive officer of GlobalSight. "Without a globalization management system to handle a complex global Web operation, this process can result in sky-rocketing expenses and lost time-to-market."

About GlobalSight

GlobalSight is the leading provider of enterprise software for accelerating global e-business. The company's products and strategic consulting enable multinational companies and dotcoms to effectively develop and maintain a "multi-locale" Web presence -- one that effectively reaches customers worldwide regardless of their language, culture, local business practices or access devices. By deploying GlobalSight's solutions, companies such as 3Com, Cisco Systems, GE, and Palm Computing are realizing a faster time to international online revenues and a stronger global brand. The company's investors include Draper Fisher Jurvetson, J.H. Whitney, Hikari Tsushin and 3i.

GlobalSight's Globalization Management System (GMS) provides the infrastructure, project management and linguistic technologies needed to successfully manage e-business globalization.
