Global Crossing receives UK Public Service Network certification.

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-August 15, 2011-Global Crossing receives UK Public Service Network certification(C)1994-2011 M2 COMMUNICATIONS

IP solutions provider Global Crossing Limited (Nasdaq:GLBC) announced on Monday that its subsidiary Global Crossing (UK) Telecommunications Limited (GCUK) has received Public Service Network (PSN) certification from the UK cabinet office.

No financial details were disclosed.

According to the company, the certification covers the delivery of its Government Conveyance Network (GCN) and PSN Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP-VPN) services to the public sector.

Under the terms of the PSN framework, all suppliers must comply with a common set of standards drawn up by the UK cabinet office to ensure consistent levels of service across the public sector. As part of the framework, all central government departments procuring IT contracts are required to buy PSN compliant services.
