Glitter trial is set.

FALLEN pop star Gary Glitter is to stand trial for obscene acts with under-age girls next month in Vietnam.

The charges against the 61-year-old singer relate to two girls aged 10 and 11.

Seventies glam-rocker Glitter, who served two months in jail in Britain in 1999 after admitting having a collection of child porn, is alleged to have abused the girls at his rented home in a beach resort.

The trial will take place on March 2, court officials said yesterday. It will be held in private and is expected to last two days.

Glitter, who was arrested trying to flee the country in November, was originally accused of child rape but prosecutors said there was not enough evidence.
