Glitch clears store.

STUNNED shoppers found the shelves of a Scottish Asda superstore almost bare - after a worker error at their US base.

The 24-hour store in Chesser, Edinburgh, was mistakenly deleted from a delivery computer.

It meant vital orders were never processed.

Regular customer Patricia Meldrum said: "It was like Russia during the 80s. There was no fruit and veg and hardly anything in the fresh or frozen sections."

News of the problem and pictures of the bare shelves spread rapidly on Twitter.

Asda said: "This is the only store to be affected by this issue and it has now been resolved."
