Glenda Perkins-Johnson.

I have enjoyed reading Mississippi Magazine since 2008. My husband and I spend a lot of time in Mississippi on weekends from February to November with our trophy business. Until I realized that your publication was a valuable source of places to see and suggestions on dining and shopping, I mainly stayed with the familiar chains of restaurants and hotels. Your publication gave me the confidence to step off the beaten path and explore whatever township, hamlet, or city I might find myself in. Thank you for your insight. Additionally, and to my delight, I learned to prepare the perfect deviled eggs from your March/April 2009 issue!

Recently, we were working in Starkville and decided to grab lunch at restaurant that we had dined at in Columbus two years prior. I took my March/April issue of the magazine inside with me. After we finished dining, we made a quick stop by the post office and headed back to Starkville. I soon realized that I left my Mississippi Magazine at the restaurant! My husband asked if I wanted to go back to retrieve it and I gave him an "are you crazy" look as I fished for the receipt from the restaurant so I could call about my magazine. My husband couldn't drive the few blocks fast enough. I felt like a mother who had lost sight of her child in the park, just plain panic stricken. I sprinted to where we had been standing before we placed our order and there was my magazine, on the condiment bar!

I read my issue and paid close attention to the section on Greenwood as we drove home, since we were schedule to be in Greenwood the following weekend. Thanks to Mississippi Magazine, my husband is really impressed with my knowledge of the out-of-the-way places across Mississippi.
