Give elderly their dignity; VOICE OF THE.

The scandal of elderly and vulnerable people cheated of their dignity is shaming in a country that rightly considers itself civilised.

The sticking plaster of 15-minute visits is peeling away and what lies beneath is a sickening lack of respect for people who deserve much better than a flying stop from a harassed carer.

Blame doesn't fall on low-paid workers who risk the sack if they linger with a client and earn less than the minimum wage because travelling time doesn't count towards their hours worked.

Blame rests with a system of cheap and short visits which tick a box but do little for the frail, disabled and ill who deserve proper care.

The UK is civilised so let's behave like a civilised nation.
