Give US bum's rush.

Byline: Joan Burnie

COME on, you can't really blame the Yanks for assuming Scottish and UK politicians would happily submit themselves to be grilled on the al-Megrahi affair.

As PM, Tony Blair gave them the impression they just had to shout, "jump" and we'd meekly squeak: "How high, sir?" David Cameron, with his cack-handed talk about us being the junior partner throughout World War II, isn't much better.

Anyway, I'm glad Jack Straw and Kenny MacAskill gave those ignorant, as they are arrogant, senators the heave-ho.

Meanwhile, I look forward to George W Bush and his cohorts explaining to the Chilcott Inquiry into Iraq how they got that so horribly wrong and led this country into what is increasingly acknowledged as an illegal war.

And don't even START me on what they've cajoled us into in Afghanistan.
