Gilmore to give British Labour talk; POLITICS.

LABOUR leader Eamon Gilmore will attend the British Labour Party Conference, which starts today.

The Dun Laoghaire TD is to speak at several functions and will also attend plenary sessions in Manchester.

He said: "I've been working to develop links between the Irish Labour Party and our British colleagues.

"As part of this effort I met with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown in Downing Street in April of this year.

"I look forward to availing of the opportunities afforded by this conference to further strengthen those links and to exchange views with the British Labour Party on areas such as developments in Northern Ireland and the European Union."
