Giganet Chosen by WinStar Communications Inc. as an OC-3, Point-to-Point Radio Supplier.

TEL-AVIV, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 1999--

Giganet Ltd. announced that it has been selected by WinStar Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: WCII) as a supplier of the FibeAir 1500(TM), an OC-3 (155 Mbps) microwave radio system that supports high-capacity data, video and voice communication in Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Corporate/Campus applications.

WinStar is the first communications company to offer its customers OC-3 capacity in a fixed, wireless broadband connection. WinStar, with licenses in the 28 and 38 GHz spectrum, provides broadband communications services, including local and long-distance phone services, as well as high-speed Internet access and data information services in more than 30 U.S. markets. In addition, WinStar recently announced service in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Following the first FibeAir 1500(TM) installation last year, an extensive testing, training and integration process with WinStar's Network Operation Center (NOC) was conducted. Since then, several installations in the 38 GHz spectrum have been completed.

The FibeAir 1500(TM), with more than three times the capacity of traditional DS3 radio systems, delivers SONET, ATM and Fast Ethernet over 155 Mbps with fiber-like quality. Giganet's high-capacity radios have been specially designed for ATM optimization and have a high system gain, which allows high availability at longer ranges of operation. The systems are compatible with FCC and ETSI standards and frequency plans for operation worldwide.

"We are proud to be selected by WinStar to provide cost-effective broadband wireless solutions," said Shraga Katz, Giganet's president and chief executive officer. "As a leading provider of broadband communications services, WinStar is an important strategic customer. Our technology enables WinStar to expand the variety of services offered to its customers."

"In addition to WinStar, numerous service providers and private networks worldwide have chosen the FibeAir 1500(TM)," explained Shlomo Tenenberg, Giganet's vice president of International Marketing and Sales. "Since the first commercial shipment in October 1998, Giganet has become a leading supplier of high-capacity radio systems in the 38 and 26 GHz frequency bands."

Giganet Ltd., the Microwave Fiber Company, designs, develops, markets and supports compact broadband wireless-based network solutions for high-capacity data, video and voice communication in Wide Area Networks (WANs), Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) and Corporate/Campus applications.

Established in 1996, Giganet Ltd. is a member of the RAD Group of companies specializing in the development of access solutions for MANs and WANs. The company's U.S. representative is Giganet Wireless Systems Inc.
