Gig-goers punished by extortionate fees; Letters.

DEAR Editor, Ticket agencies have sprung up like mushrooms out of manure. You buy the ticket for face value and then have to add on their 10 per cent for every ticket.

So, if four people want to go to a concert, 10 per cent is added on each ticket.

Now, to add to this rip-off they are also charging money, in some cases, to print off the ticket on email to show proof of purchase or a higher cost if you want the tickets sent.

Money for old rope, as they say. I would prefer to visit the box office, but some venues do not have box offices and so if you want to see a band you are forced to pay the extra rip-off fees.

The prize for the worst must go to Wolverhampton Halls, who charge 12.5 per cent on top, even for cash.

The ticket sellers know that we are trapped with no alternative but to pay up or not go.
