Gig Preview.

ROCK and roll will be on the menu at an evening serving up a platter of local talent.

The Central bar in Gateshead will play host to NEED Music Ltd's showcase gig tonight with a hotly-tipped Newcastle outfit heading the bill.

The Villeins, pictured above, will be the main act of the night and the five-piece indie rockers promise to deliver a memorable set having earned their stripes sharing the stage with the likes of VIVA Brother and The Rumble Strips.

New folk band Tankerville, which features singer-songwriter Pete Whitehead, will be warming up the stage with further support provided by Kaleidoscopes, who are described as a "unique brew of British invasion and alternative Americana influences in the traditions of acts like The Yardbirds, The Who and The Lemonheads". From further afield is Brave Yesterday from Jersey in the Channel Islands.

Doors are at 8pm with tickets costing just PS4. | For more information on the event or to find out about any other NEED Music Ltd gigs, visit
