Gift of the Gab helps Christine.

Byline: OLIVER HOLT

NO doubt some of Christine Ohuruogu's backslappers in the media were outraged by her interview with Gabby Logan on the BBC's Inside Sport on Monday night.

You see Logan asked the 400metres world champion a series of fair and honest and probing questions, which is sacrilege according to some of Ohuruogu's more rabid apologists.

The funny thing was, Ohuruogu (above) answered them all with impressive candour and intelligence.

For the first time, she admitted she was at fault for her three missed drugs tests.

For the first time, she admitted a measure of responsibility for her year out of the sport.

She even admitted she would have thought it odd if an athlete had come off a year's suspension and started setting personal bests.

That might come as a bit of a shock to the apologists who ridiculed the idea that any suspicion should be attached to her feats.

But the important thing is that Ohuruogu finally seems to have come to her senses and accepted she has a case to answer.
