Giant sea creatures heading for Dewsbury.

Friday 24 Feb 7.30pm Kirklees Council has announced that this year's Spirit event will once again feature the fantastic mechanical animals of Spanish performers Sarruga, who wowed audiences with their fire-breathing dragons two years ago.

Taking place on Friday 24 February, this year's show, called 'Peixos', is a water-themed spectacle featuring magical shoals of fish, jellyfish, whales and sharks. Over 45 minutes, spectators follow a procession of underwater discovery which leads to a thrilling climax with the appearance of a rather menacing shark - complete with snapping jaws and fearsome teeth!

The show will begin at 7.30pm with a procession around the town centre streets, before heading to Longcauseway for the final showdown in front of the Town Hall. www.kirklees.gov.uk/spirit T: 01484 223200
