Ghostbusters sequel casts Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon; Ghostbusters is getting a sequel from Jason Reitman and now it sounds like we have some cast members.

The Ghostbusters sequel from Jason Reitman is starting to build up its cast.
Jason Reitmanis making a direct sequel to the original twoGhostbustersfilms by his fatherIvan Reitman, with no connection to Paul Feig's female-fronted film.
NowVarietyhas reported thatStranger Thingsand IT star Finn Wolfhard will be cast in the film, alongside Gone Girl and Widows actress Carrie Coon.
Little details are known about the plot but it is believed that Coon will portray a single mother in the film with a connection to the Ghostbusters team.
It is believed that Wolfhard will portray the son to Coon's character.

Sony has scheduled a release in July 2020 for the upcoming sequel, with Reitman set to begin shooting in summer this year.
Coon was in cinemas last year in Steve McQueen's Widows and played Thanos' henchwoman Proxmia Midnight in Avengers: Infinity War.
We can look forward to more Wolfhard, meanwhile, in the upcoming third run of Stranger Things that is due in July, along with another appearance in IT: Chapter 2, which is due out on September 6, 2019.
Wolfhard is also due to make an appearance in the upcoming adaptation of acclaimed Donna Tartt novel The Goldfinch.
Will Reitman manage to get any of the original cast members back for the new sequel?
The Ghostbusters sequel is due for release in summer 2020.
