Get that scent to linger.
Here is what to do so that your favourite perfumes have optimum staying power.
Experts say it is hair, not skin that carries scents best.
1. Citrus notes don't stay long whereas perfumes with woody base notes like sandal or other woods, oud, vanilla, linger on the skin for longer. 2. The best time to spray perfume is right after a shower and before getting dressed as the pores on the skin are open. The perfume will also keep from staining your delicate jewellery or clothes. Do not store the scents in the bathroom though. 3. Eau de parfum contains the highest amount of oil which also guarantees the most staying power. So even if expensive, buy the one you can best afford. 4. Layer scents by first using a body oil and then topping off with a perfume which has a similar scent. 5. Citrus scents and eau de colognes need to be reapplied throughout the day. Keep travel-sized versions of your favourite scent at the desk, in your car and purse to reapply at different times.
